Those who need relevant documents provided by the government, such as ID card, driver's license, student ID card and passport (foreigners), can go to the MPT business hall where they are located.
In order to facilitate the processing, relevant departments are cooperating with 3 plus operators (MPT, telenor, ooredoo) to prepare for online registration.
The Communication Bureau under the Ministry of Transport announced on August 1 that national mobile phone users who have not registered their SIM cards must register with the relevant telecom operators according to the regulations. Mobile phones without registered SIM cards will be suspended from March 3, next year (20 17).
In addition, users who legally registered to buy SIM cards in the past must re-register with the relevant telecom operators in the name of the current users if they transfer their SIM cards to other users. According to the regulations, mobile phone SIM registration requires the following information: registrant's name, copy of ID card or passport (foreigner), father's name and birthday, nationality/citizen, gender, address, etc.
According to the communication bureau, the reason why the Ministry of Transport allows mobile phone users to legally register SIM cards is to facilitate mobile phone users to use mobile banking, mobile money, online shopping and other systems.
