What does QD LCD mean?

QD LCD is an improved version of the existing common LCD technology. It adds a quantum dot film on the LCD. These quantum dot materials are matched with the blue light-emitting diode, which generates blue light, excites red and green quantum dots to generate red and green light, and together with the blue light of the blue light-emitting diode, constitutes RGB three primary colors. Ordinary LCD generates RGB primary colors by exciting phosphor with white light emitting diode. So the difference between the two is mainly in the backlight part.

As QD-LCD is an improved version of LCD, it can be determined that the display effect of QD-LCD will be far better than that of LCD. The most outstanding points are high color gamut, good image quality, stronger stereoscopic impression and contrast. At present, high-end TV uses QD-LCD to improve the picture quality, but at the same time, due to the increase of cost, the price of quantum dot display products will be slightly higher.
