Romance of the New Three Kingdoms is a historical costume drama jointly produced by China Communication University TV Production Center and Pentium Film and Television Culture Development Co., Ltd., with Gao Xixi as the director and Chen Jianbin, Yu Hewei, Dahongni, Yu Rongguang, He, Nie Yuan, Chen Hao and Huang Weide as the stars.

The TV series is adapted from the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by novelist Luo Guanzhong at the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty. It describes the historical story from the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty to the battle of Guandu, the struggle between Battle of Red Cliffs and the Three Kingdoms, and the return of the world to gold after Sima Jia usurped Wei.
