The proven rare earth reserves in Longyan area are 84,000 tons (calculated by reo), and the prospective reserves are more than 6,543,800 tons. Among them, the rare earth minerals in Changting County, Longyan City account for more than 70% of the proven reserves in Fujian Province. Changting rare earth resources belong to the type of medium-rich yttrium-europium rare earth deposit, with high medium-heavy rare earth content.
China is currently the largest producer and exporter of rare earths in the world, and its proven rare earth resources are about 65.88 million tons. Our province is rich in rare earth resources, with more than 50,000 tons of proven reserves and 4 million tons of prospective reserves, ranking third in the country, second only to Inner Mongolia and Jiangxi, mainly concentrated in Longyan and Sanming.
China has the largest absolute reserves of rare earths. Rare earth resources are not only rich, but also have the advantages of complete minerals and rare earth elements, reasonable rare earth grade and occurrence distribution. According to the report released by the State Council 20 12, China's rare earth reserves account for 23% of the world's total and supply 90% of the global market.
98% of the total rare earth resources in China are distributed in Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Sichuan, Shandong and other regions.
Geologists have discovered thousands of mineral deposits, occurrences and mineralized producing areas in more than two thirds of provinces (regions) in China, except Bayanobo in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, Gannan in Jiangxi, Peyo in Guangdong and Liangshan in Sichuan, where rare earth resources are concentrated.
Rare earth deposits have also been found in Shandong, Hunan, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Fujian, Zhejiang, Hubei, Henan, Shanxi, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and other provinces, but the resources are much less than those in the concentrated areas of mineralization.
