What is Tongqing Building?

The copper building is a restaurant.

Tongqing Building 1925 opened and was founded by 19 Huizhou merchants. Cheng Yuyou, a native of Jixi, Huizhou, was elected manager. Located in Zhong Er Street, Wuhu City, it is characterized by operating Huizhou cuisine along the Yangtze River.

Tongqinglou is a famous historical restaurant in Wuhu. The copper building was built in the late Qing Dynasty. It turned out to be a small noodle restaurant opened by Huizhou people. In the early years of the Republic of China, Wu Qingzhou, a native of Jixi, founded Mingyuan Electric Company at the intersection of Beijing today, and Nissin Flour Company and Dachang Match Company outside the golden gate of Dalingfang. He was also the president of Wuhu Chamber of Commerce and the president of Huizhou Green House, and became a great industrialist in Wuhu.

Wu Xingzhou took the lead in collecting shares and expanded Huizhou Noodle Restaurant into Huizhou Tongqinglou Restaurant. This move has been strongly supported by Huizhou fellow villagers, and the storefront industry is booming, so it has become a well-known Huizhou Cuisine Hall in Wuhu.
