Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd., referred to as Shanghai Electric for short, is the equipment manufacturing group with the largest sales volume in China machinery industry. The company, formerly known as Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd., was changed into Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. by the resolution of the fifth shareholders' meeting held on September 8, 2004 and approved by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government (Hu Fu Fa Gai Shen [2004] No.008), with all shareholders as sponsors, according to the relevant provisions of the Company Law.

Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. is one of the largest enterprise groups in China's equipment manufacturing industry. It has many industrial groups such as power station, power transmission and distribution, heavy industry, rail transit, mechatronics, machine tools, environmental protection, elevators, printing machinery and so on. Now there are more than 50 joint ventures of listed companies such as Shanghai Electromechanical Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd., with more than 70,000 employees. The company integrates engineering design, product development, equipment manufacturing and complete sets of engineering technical services, and has the advantages of complete sets of equipment, general contracting of projects and comprehensive services of modern equipment.

Efficient and clean energy and new energy equipment are the core business of Shanghai Electric Group, and energy equipment accounts for about 70% of sales revenue. The main products are 1000MW ultra-supercritical thermal power unit, 1000MW nuclear power unit, heavy equipment, power transmission and distribution, elevators, printing machinery, machine tools and so on.
