What is the content of hci research?

Hci mainly studies the interaction between human and computer. It is generally considered as an interdisciplinary subject in computer science, behavioral science, design and other related fields.

Hci has two major directions, one is the design direction, which belongs to the art category. If you want to apply for this direction, you need to design some interfaces and submit a portfolio.

There is also a general direction that is biased towards engineering. For science and engineering students who apply for hci, engineering is the most important. If students have knowledge and are exposed to social science and art, they can also emphasize it, but this is just icing on the cake and there is no need.

As a new major in the information age, human-computer interaction is a comprehensive subject to study the interaction between systems and users.

The purpose of this major is to build an interactive bridge between products and users. The console of the machine, the gps in the car, the visual interface of the mobile phone, and even Apple's ios siri are the research results of this major. Hci students need to learn a wide range of knowledge, including computer science, psychology, industrial design, informatics, sociology and so on.

Hci covers a wide range of disciplines, mainly including three aspects, the first is engineering, the second is social science, and the third is art.

First of all, the engineering direction includes cs (Computer Science), ee (Electrical Engineering) and me (Mechanical Engineering).

Followed by behavioral science. It needs to involve two objects: machines and people. Machines are cold, but people have feelings. To do hci well, we must have a good understanding of human behavior, which requires us to master the science of studying human behavior in an all-round way, especially psychology and behavior.

The third is design (media research). Software design should make people feel comfortable, beautiful, generous and innovative at the same time. This is not a science, but an art, so designers need to know something about art.
