According to People's Daily Online, as of August 8, 2023, the construction of the Ganyue Canal needs to overcome the complexity of geographical conditions, water conservancy projects and water resources management. Because of this complexity, the difficulty of construction progress has increased, and the problem has not been solved, so the Grand Canal between Jiangxi and Guangdong has been stopped.
