The special effects of the film The Wandering Earth were completed by special effects companies such as Orange Vision, Mo MoreVFX, Pixomondo, Dexter and BaseFX.
Ding Yanlai, the special effects director of this film, is the special effects director of Orange Vision. Two special effects companies in China, Orange Vision and Mo MoreVFX, have finished nearly half of the scenes in the film. In addition, Pixomondo (Sino-German cooperation), Dexter (Sino-Korean cooperation) and BaseFX (Beijing Beifeishi International Visual Art Exchange Co., Ltd.) all participated in the special effects production of this film.
Many people can't believe that The Wandering Earth's special effects were made by China Company. In fact, the domestic special effects technology is quite powerful, but most of them only accept foreign workers. It's not about worshipping foreign things or flattering foreign countries.
However, due to the low budget for special effects in domestic film and television works (all the money is given to actors), only cheap post-special effects can be invited, so these top special effects companies can only support themselves with foreign films.
The shooting problem of wandering earth;
In the filming of The Wandering Earth, we first faced a huge problem, that is, there is very little content for reference, and everything has to be started from scratch. In this regard, visual effects director Ding Yanlai called "horror": "There seems to be nothing to shoot in the script and nothing to use directly." ?
Therefore, they drew 3000 conceptual design drawings, including detailed ideas of all scenes such as planetary engines, dungeons and transport vehicles. The planetary engine is an important element of this film. According to the original description, the diameter of the planetary engine is as high as ten kilometers, and the unimaginable panorama is full of curiosity.
