According to enterprise data, Beijing Infrastructure Investment was established in 2003. It is a wholly state-owned company funded by Beijing SASAC. It undertakes the investment, financing and management of infrastructure based on rail transit, as well as the operation and service functions of rail transit equipment manufacturing and information technology services, land and property development and management. As a backbone enterprise in Beijing's public transport industry, it took the lead in creatively proposing a new ABO model (authorization-construction-operation) in China, and became the only main unit authorized by the government in the rail transit industry, responsible for integrating the whole industry chain services such as investment, financing, construction and operation of urban rail transit.
