BP Zhuhai Chemical Co., Ltd. (BPZ) is a joint venture between BP and Hua Fu Group Holding Company in Zhuhai. As one of the largest petrochemical and energy groups in the world, BP is also the largest investor in China among foreign oil companies. The company will produce purified terephthalic acid (PTA) with an annual production capacity of 350,000 metric tons, which is the preferred raw material for manufacturing polyester. Foreign capital owns 85% of the shares. BPZ uses BP's leading proprietary technology to produce PTA for domestic sales and export, and adopts leading management practices to operate.
