The Development History of Raytheon Company

Two former school roommates, Lawrence K. Marshall and Vanilla Bush, and scientist Charlie G. Smith founded "American Instruments Company" in Cambridge, Massachusetts on 1922. The first product of this company is a helium rectifier based on Smith's past research and development. This tube is named Raytheon, one is used in the AC junction box and the other is used in the AC junction box. 1925 The company name was changed to Raytheon.

During World War II, Raytheon began to manufacture magnetrons for radar, and then produced the whole radar system. 1945 Percy Spencer of Raytheon Company invented the microwave oven, and he found that the magnetron can also be used to cook food. 1948, Raytheon began to manufacture guided missiles. In the years after the war, Raytheon also manufactured radio and television transmitters and related products, and obtained D. C. Heath Publishing House to participate in the education publishing industry. Raytheon began to participate in transistor manufacturing in the 1950 s, and its products included the popular CK722, which was sold to amateurs.

Raytheon 1980 acquired Beech Aircraft Manufacturing Company, and 1993 acquired BAe commercial passenger aircraft production line. Raytheon Aircraft Company was established after the merger of two cases: 1994.

In the mid-1990s, Raytheon acquired the military-related businesses of E- Systems and Texas Instruments. During the period of 1997, Raytheon Company purchased Hughes Aircraft Company from General Motors, including some product lines previously purchased by Hughes Company, including missile business purchased from General Dynamics Company, military departments of Delcaux Electronics Company and Magnavox Electronic Systems Company. These acquisitions and mergers have increased the production capacity of Raytheon.
