Qiu Xiandong, director, general manager and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of China FAW Group Co., Ltd., said that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is not only based on the mutual trust accumulated by the 32-year tacit cooperation between the two sides, but also reflects the determination of China FAW to seize the opportunity of historical change and take advantage of the situation, and conveys a strong message that China's automobile industry will open wider to the outside world and strengthen international cooperation in the field of new energy vehicles.
PPE platform (Premium? Architecture? Electrification) is a high-end electric vehicle platform developed by Audi and Porsche for large electric vehicles. The models built by this platform have lighter body and higher body stiffness, covering coupe, travel, SUV and other models. The first model will be put into production in 2024.
In the product pedigree of Audi AG, the relationship between PPE and MEB, two pure electric platforms, is similar to that between MLB and MQB. The latter has a wider product coverage, but the former has a higher positioning.
It is reported that the new joint venture company will imitate the existing fuel vehicle A6L/Q5L, launch the corresponding pure electric vehicle, and launch an impact on the throne of "the largest luxury brand in China".
