Carbon has introduced a new "next generation" 3D printer, which uses a 4K light engine to print faster and smoother.

According to the resource database, recently, Carbon, an American 3D printing company, released two brand-new models M3 and M3 Max, claiming to be the next generation of innovative digital light synthesis (DLS) technology. Prior to this, Carbon introduced M2 3D printer in 20 17 and L 1 3D printer in 20 19.

M3 and M3 Max based on the new DLS system can provide higher printing speed and consistency, better surface smoothness, larger construction amount and simpler printing experience.

DLS is a SLA-based process, which uses digital light projection and oxygen-permeable optical equipment to cure photopolymer resin into 3D parts. Materials used in carbon systems are usually embedded with heat-activated programmable chemicals, thus achieving engineering-grade mechanical properties and high-resolution characteristics.

The building volume of M3 is189 x118 x 326 mm, which is consistent with M2. On the other hand, M3 Max is equipped with 4K optical engine, and its printing area is twice that of M3, reaching 307X 163x326 mm, so M3 Max is more suitable for small batch production of large parts.

It is said that carbon M3 is 2.5 times faster than M2. Due to better thermal management, carbon M3 series printers have higher output per square foot and smoother parts than previous generations under the condition of limited heat.

In addition, the next generation DLS printing can reduce the difference of parts in a single structure by as much as 50%-which means that the overall accuracy difference of engineering resin is smaller and the production repeatability is higher. M3 Max adopts 4k DLP 3D printer light engine, which achieves twice the building area with the same pixel size and density.

In fact, Carbon is seeking to provide an advanced end-to-end production platform, which can provide a better overall user experience when combined with Carbon Design Engine software and Carbon DLS materials. Customers can choose to upgrade their products, which will save them time and money, because it will continue to ensure product quality and spend less time.

This new machine also simplifies parts. With the introduction of closed-loop temperature control, users will be able to reduce faults and improve the printing experience in a simpler way. Generally speaking, M3 and M3 Max 3D printers will be more stable and faster, and the printing model accuracy will be more consistent. These advantages will give Carbon a greater advantage in the dental industry and will continue to expand its market share in this field.

Another bright spot, this is the first copy paper printer that can be installed by customers themselves, and users can complete the installation within a few hours. M3 printer can be ordered and delivered now, and M3 Max printer is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2022 after ordering. However, the specific price of carbon has not been disclosed officially, and the only thing that can be determined is the leasing model.
