Origin of surnames, pedigree of surnames, origin of first names, surnames and surnames brief introduction.

淦 (凎) [淦, 凎, pronounced gà n (ㄢˋ)]

I. Origin of surname:

The first origin: in terms of place names, it comes from Ganshui, a tributary of Ganjiang River in Jiangxi Province, and belongs to the name of Juyi.

According to the history book "Examination of Surnames", Gan's family, "Jizhou people, because of water as their surname." It is recorded in the history book "Thousand Family Names" that the Gan family is a "Qingshui family".

According to Ganjiagou's "The Continuation of Gans Genealogy" in Jiangbei County, as early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, there was an old prime minister named Jin who abandoned his official position and returned to his hometown to travel around with his family. On one occasion, he came to Ganshui River near Ganjiang River in central Jiangxi. He settled down when he saw the beautiful scenery here. He took Ganshui River "Gan" as his surname, remained anonymous, cultivated himself and studied for entertainment, and the place where he lived and multiplied was called "Xin Gan" by the world, which was simplified to "Xin Gan". Finally, he became a "new cadre".

Driving water originated in Lishan Mountain in the southeast of Qingjiang County, Jiangxi Province, and flowed northward into Ganjiang River through Zigan Mountain. In the late Gansu period of Qing Dynasty, a family named Gan Nong led his family into Sichuan and settled in Jiangbei County (now Jiangbei District of Chongqing). Since then, there have been more than 1000 descendants.

The second origin: from the change of surname, from the Jin officials in the Southern Song Dynasty, they took refuge and changed their surnames.

Legend has it that in the Southern Song Dynasty, Song Gaozong and Zhao Gou, A Jin officials committed a lawsuit in the Northeast. In order to let him escape the punishment of the imperial court, someone secretly interceded for Zhao Gou and Song Gaozong. At that time, Song Gaozong had just settled down in the small court in Lin 'an. He turned a blind eye to all the actions of court officials and pointed out a flexible way: let him go to the south to hide his name and escape the punishment of the court.

Later, the Jin official settled in Yongxiu County, Jiangxi Province. Because the residence is near the water, the radical "Jin" is added before the surname, and it is changed from Jin to Gan, which is called Gan's.

The third origin: from the change of surname, it comes from the Jin family in Poyang, Jiangxi Province, which belongs to the change of surname for some reason, or the emperor gave it to the surname.

According to legend, in the Song Dynasty, there was a man named A Jin Binlai in Poyang, Jiangxi Province, who was an official of this festival. At that time, because Jin was at war with the Southern Song Dynasty, Lai also led the crowd to Lin 'an (the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, now Hangzhou, Zhejiang). When Matt Wong Lai came to the court, Song Gaozong was fast asleep. In his dream, he heard the eunuch say "Jin Binlai". As soon as he heard the homophonic "Jin Bing", he was scared to drill under the dragon table. Later, Matt Wong Lai, a subordinate minister, came in. Song Gaozong was very annoyed and said, "Ai Qing, your surname is not good!" So he took a pen, put "gold" before the word "gold" and changed it to "dry". Who dares to disobey the emperor's decree? So Lai had to change his surname to "Gan", and the clan could only follow suit and become the origin of the Gan family.

Gan Renwu has two sons. The eldest son, Gan, was appointed as Baoding magistrate, and the second son, Gan, was appointed Minister of Finance.
