What material is tolon?

Toron is an engineering plastic.

Polyamideimide (PAI) is a new variety developed by Amoco Research Institute in Greenville, Illinois, USA in 1964. 1965, and then an ultra-high functional engineering plastic was developed. It was listed on 197 1 under the trade name of TORLON. Originally produced in Joliet, Illinois, 65433. The advent of PAI solved the technical problem that polyimide could not be injection molded in the past. All kinds of precision products with complex shapes can be molded by injection molding process, and the production efficiency is also significantly improved. Moreover, PAI has good heat resistance, and its tensile strength, bending strength, compressive strength, dimensional stability and wear resistance are superior to other engineering plastics.

Polyamideimide is usually formed by polycondensation of phenyl trimeric anhydride and diisocyanate in DMF solution. PAI (Polyamideimide) is a new engineering plastic containing amide groups. Due to the very stable aromatic heterocyclic structure in polyimide molecules, it shows unparalleled heat resistance and low temperature resistance, and has excellent mechanical properties and dimensional stability in high temperature environment.
