Hebei Institute of Science and Technology was founded by Heyang Education Investment Co., Ltd. The predecessor of the school was Baoding Huzhen Vocational and Technical College, which was founded in 2003. In 2006, it was renamed Baoding Vocational College of Science and Technology with the approval of Hebei Provincial People's Government. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to a private undergraduate college and renamed Hebei Institute of Science and Technology.
