Historical origin of official bank numbers
The official bank number refers to the northeast corner of Tianjin today. As the name implies, the official bank number is a financial institution formally established by the Qing government. 1900, after Eight-Nation Alliance invaded Tianjin, countries scrambled to set up banks in Tianjin, and the financial order was chaotic, which led to the gradual shrinkage of the original domestic banks. Yuan Shikai, then governor of Zhili and minister of Beiyang, pushed Tianjin New Deal and ordered Zhou Dali to set up industry. Zhou founded Beiyang Bureau, Guanyinhao, Industrial Bank and other financial institutions in Tianjin. Guanyinhao has rapidly developed into a modern financial institution serving industrial development, which has promoted the rectification of the financial order in the north. Old Tianjin people are obsessed with the official bank number. "Tianjin Geographical Miscellaneous Words" has the saying that "the official line number, the chamber of commerce, prepares the national currency of the bank", and the place name of the official line number has been passed down to this day.
