Hainan University Library is a key cultural and educational project in the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Hainan Province. It consists of Haidian General Library, Danzhou Campus, Chengxi Campus and 19 secondary libraries, covering an area of 43,632 square meters. Among them, Haidian Library is 33 106 m2, Danzhou Branch is 6500 m2, Chengxi Campus is 2300 m2, 19 secondary library is 1726 m2, and the average library area of the whole school is 1.4 1 m2. There are 4,587 reading seats in the whole school library, 3,704 in Haidian Library, 200 in Danzhou Campus and Chengxi Campus, 9 in secondary library 180 in multimedia library.
In order to meet the needs of the increase in the number of students in school, the school has invested a lot of money in the purchase of books and materials, greatly increasing the number of books and materials in its collection. There are 3,276,500 books in my collection, including 2,085,200 paper documents (including bound volumes of paper books) and electronic books 1 19 13000. According to the actual number of people, the average number of books per student is 105.78, of which the average number of books per student is paper.
In addition, there are abundant electronic databases in Chinese and foreign languages. Such as VIP Chinese sci-tech periodical database, Wanfang data resource system, China periodical full-text database, China important newspaper full-text database, China periodical title database, China patent title abstract database, China excellent doctoral thesis full-text database, EBSCO database, BIOSIS Previews database, CA database, Springer Link electronic periodical system, LexisNexis legal and business communication, etc. , you can query and retrieve the titles and full texts of important philosophical and social science journals at home and abroad. The library mainly serves teachers and students of Hainan University and provides literature exchange and information consultation services for all walks of life in the province. It is not only the library and information center and academic activity center for teaching and scientific research in Hainan University, but also the second classroom for students, and the document information center and information service center in Hainan Province. The library broke through the traditional layout of separating collection, borrowing and reading, and realized the modern LAN management mode of document collection, circulation and reading. Readers can directly enter the hall open to readers and choose documents at will.
The function of the library has expanded from single document lending to all-round knowledge services such as the generation, acquisition, transformation, integration, transmission and enjoyment of knowledge, intelligence and information.
The library has launched an online email reminder service. When the book you borrowed is about to expire, the system will automatically send an email to remind you to return it. Please return the book at the specified time to avoid overdue fees.
The first floor of the library is the exhibition hall, multifunctional lecture hall, information exchange hall, multimedia reading room and projection hall. On the second and third floors, there are the first library of Zheshe (A to G, H0-H 1, K), the second library of Zheshe (I literature, J art), the first library of science and technology (N-R, T-Z), the second library of science and technology (S agricultural science) and the gift library (with Xiangmei study) on the third floor (attached) The multimedia reading room and reference room on the south side of the third floor can use all kinds of reference books for manual retrieval, or use multimedia computers to read electronic documents and retrieve domestic and foreign materials. On the north side of the fourth floor is the back issue library, where readers can search the Chinese and foreign periodicals collected over the years; On the south side of the fourth floor is the campus network center and foreign language stacks. On the fifth floor, there are Zheshe Reserve Library, Science and Technology Reserve Library and Hainan Literature Center, and there are two reading rooms for teachers and graduate students (including newspapers and periodicals reading rooms in Hong Kong and Taiwan) to facilitate readers to find complete collection materials.
Both library management and library business work adopt electronic computer management, and document retrieval has fully realized electronic network operation. On the north side of the hall is a retrieval hall with several terminals for readers to find the required library literature and electronic database resources. On the south side of the third floor are the multimedia reading room and the library LAN mainframe room. Readers can visit the campus network of Hainan University at will, and connect with the Internet through China Education and Research Network (CERNET) to retrieve rich and diverse information at home and abroad.
All the staff of the library will face education, the special zone and modernization, and provide high-quality and comprehensive information services for the economic, scientific, technological, political, educational and cultural development of the special zone. We hope to build the library into a modern information center in the whole province and a spiritual home for readers.
