Among Nono’s self-operated cars, Acura is considered a rare visitor. The ILX we are going to talk about today has an even lower exit rate on the street. It is Acura's first compact sedan launched in China. Its positioning is similar to the CT200h, but its technology is very different. ?
Since not many new cars of this car are sold, there are only a handful of second-hand cars for sale across the country.
Although Acura is Honda's high-end brand, it is obvious that ILX is not a simply upgraded product from Honda. Acura clearly has its own tone. ILX is a good example. It is more sporty, stylish, and has higher configurations. This is different from the 9th generation Civic.
ILX's front face is more stretched, with lines spreading out from the middle and extending backward through the ribs on the hood. The overall visual center is also lower, which is the design direction pursued by many current models.
The lines extend from front to back and gradually rise at the rear wheel arch, creating a wide-body effect.
This change will be more obvious from the rear, which feels a bit like an American muscle car.
This small rear wing is the finishing touch and the size is just right.
When I saw the Acura logo, I wanted to say one more thing. Acura's English name, Acura, comes from the Latin Accuracy (accuracy), reflecting Acura's exquisite car-making craftsmanship and pursuit of perfection.
Don’t mention it, it’s really similar!
As a hybrid model, the Hybrid logo naturally needs to be placed in a conspicuous place.
Keyless entry is standard. Once you get used to this feature, you really can’t get rid of it.
Since all have keyless entry, a multi-function steering wheel is indispensable.
But this is not the point. The point is that this car is equipped with paddle shifters. ?
Because this is a hybrid vehicle or an internal combustion engine dominates power output, it is logical to equip it with paddle shifters.
Seat heating is a great thing. Both the driver and passenger are equipped with it, and it is adjustable in two levels. It is really warmer and warmer!
Keyless start, automatic headlights, and automatic air conditioning are all standard features, which is what a luxury brand should have.
What shocked me most about the whole car was the quality of the audio. The penetrating power is excellent. It is difficult to find the same level of audio in cars of the same level and price. It is definitely a superior product.
Although it is a fully imported model, the control panel and host UI are all in Chinese culture, which is still very considerate.
The central control screen is also in Chinese.
As a luxury brand targeting the American market, ILX’s seats are very wide and the ride comfort is great.
Thanks to the extremely wide seat back, the ILX’s seat has a very good shoulder support design. ?
A chair that can make Americans and Americans sit comfortably. Judging from our Chinese physiques, everyone will naturally enjoy it more. ?
However, due to the perforated leather, the seat of this car that has traveled more than 80,000 kilometers still has some wrinkles. But the overall quality is acceptable and won't make people uncomfortable.
The rear seats are still very spacious and no corners have been cut. However, legroom is a bit tight.
The main reason is that the front seats are too wide, a full 15cm. This improves the riding comfort of the main driver, but compresses the riding space in the rear row. ?
If Acura could be more aggressive, the rear space could be improved.
Fortunately, there is a center armrest in the back row that you can rely on. Depending on the color, it’s not used much here.
There are battery vents on the edges of the rear seats because the batteries are placed under the seats. ?
Don’t block the air inlet!
By the way, I would also like to share the battery precautions posted on the door sill!
Because the battery takes up a lot of space, and the designer wanted to give a very good trunk space, the spare tire is omitted! In its place was an air pump that seemed to have never been used.
Having said so much, in my mind, the brightest thing in the interior is actually the start button!
Let’s talk about this hybrid system! ?
Because of the strong patent barriers of Toyota's THS system, many manufacturers have to "cross the sea and show their magical powers" when developing hybrid systems. This Acura hybrid system IMA parallel hybrid system is such a product.
As can be seen from this picture on Pacific Automotive Network, the motor of the IMA system is installed between the gearbox and the engine. The torques of the two can be superimposed on the transmission input shaft, and the electric motor can also enjoy the gear ratio changing service of the transmission. This structure is more similar to the popular 48V micro-hybrid today. ?
In fact, it can be seen from the name that the full name of Honda's IMA system is Integrated Motor Assist. The motor itself is an auxiliary drive system and does not play a particularly important role in the powertrain.
This 1.5L engine can provide 68kW of power, while the motor only has a peak power of 17.2kW. In most working conditions, the two drive the vehicle simultaneously, and the motor rarely works alone. This is what differentiates it from Toyota's hybrid system and Honda's later i-DCD system. ?
But this also has a good "side effect" - the power of this car is really not bad, and the response is also very sensitive.
The technical information provided by Honda also shows that pure electric operation will only occur in low-speed cruising state. After our actual test drive, this working condition really passed by in a flash...
If you want to really significantly save fuel, you still have to manually turn on the ECON button, or you still have to rely on the driver...
Looking at the data again, 7.7L/100km seems really not good enough. This kind of fuel consumption will be compared with other hybrid systems. ?
But look at it from another perspective. The performance of Acura ILX is not bad - compared with mild-hybrid vehicles, the fuel consumption of ILX is not high, and even has obvious advantages. ?
After all, technically speaking, this IMA is really closer to the popular 48V micro-hybrid system than it is a light hybrid system. Moreover, there are currently not many 48V micro-hybrid systems that can achieve electric cruising, and they are usually million-dollar luxury cars.
Look at the previous owner’s average speed of 7.7L/100km – only 20km/h, a real traffic jam king! For a fuel vehicle, such a low average speed often means higher fuel consumption, even if you have top fuel-saving skills, it will be in vain.
