Changsha Normal University, referred to as "Changsha Normal University", is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is a full-time public undergraduate institution organized by the Hunan Provincial People's Government.
The school has two campuses, Xingsha and Ansha, with a campus area of ??698,200 square meters and a construction area of ??401,800 square meters. It has 1 provincial-level practical teaching demonstration center, 54 experimental training rooms, and undergraduate 28 majors.
Changsha Normal University was formerly Changsha Normal School founded in 1912. In 2004, it was approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and established as Hunan Children's Engineering Vocational College; in 2005, it was restored as "Changsha Normal School" with the approval of the Ministry of Education School name. In April 2013, it was upgraded to a general undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education and named Changsha Normal University.

1. As of 2022, the school has 1,026 on-the-job faculty and staff, including 665 full-time teachers.
2. Among the full-time teachers, 226 have senior professional titles and 119 have doctorates.
3. There is one national-level candidate for the "New Century Hundreds and Thousands of Talents Project", one expert enjoying the special government allowance of the State Council, one member of the National College Teaching Steering Committee, and two national outstanding teachers. There is one national post-study model named Lei Feng, five candidates for the Hunan Provincial New Century 121 Talent Project, one Furong famous teacher, three provincial subject leaders and other experts and outstanding teachers.
Scientific research achievements:
1. From 2018 to 2020, the school was approved for 203 vertical projects such as the National Social Science Fund, the National Arts Fund, and the Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education.
2. Eight works of art by teachers and students have been collected by domestic and international museums, including two collections by the British Museum and four collections by the Cleveland Museum of Art in the United States. 406 national patents were authorized.
