Darieu wind turbine is the earliest vertical axis wind turbine with lift, referred to as D impeller. It was invented by a French engineer named G.J.M.Darrieus, and applied for a patent at 193 1, but it was not taken seriously until the late 1960s. After a lot of research by Canadian National Aerodynamics Laboratory and Sandia Laboratory in the United States, Darieu wind turbine has practical value. Compared with all vertical axis wind turbines, it has the highest wind energy utilization coefficient. At present, all lift vertical axis wind turbines can be classified as Darius wind turbines.
Characteristics of Wind Turbines in Darieu
Darieu wind turbine is a newly developed vertical axis wind turbine, named after French inventor Darieu. The following picture shows the ordinary φ-shaped Darieu wind turbine and the special δ-shaped Darieu wind turbine. Its leaves are mostly 2-3. When the wind turbine rotates, it has nothing to do with the wind direction and is a lift type. It is simple to install and relatively cheap, but its starting performance is poor, so someone combined this wind turbine with a Sasbenniu wind turbine.
