There were 273,000 general undergraduate and junior college students enrolled throughout the year, and 893,700 current students. The province has 27,400 graduate student enrollments and 80,000 current graduate students; adult higher education has 66,000 enrollments and 172,000 current students.
The annual enrollment of secondary vocational schools was 246,400 (excluding technical schools), with 625,500 students enrolled.
There are 11,583 ordinary primary schools in the province***, with an enrollment of 409,900 students and 2,714,400 students in school. The net enrollment rate of primary school-age children reached 99.65%, an increase of 0.06 percentage points from the previous year;*** There are 2,509 ordinary middle schools (including 1,923 junior high schools), with an enrollment of 880,800 students (including 545,900 junior high schools). There are 2,746,800 students in school (including 1,802,700 junior high schools). The net enrollment rate of the junior high school-age population is 99.70%, which is 99.70%. It increased by 0.15 percentage points from the previous year.
There are 2,902 kindergartens in the province, with 573,600 children (including preschools) in kindergartens. There are 39 special education schools with 8,405 disabled children in school.
There were 644 scientific and technological achievements registered locally in the province throughout the year, including 92 in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, 38 in mining, 127 in manufacturing, and 127 in electricity, gas and water. 83 items in the production and supply industry, 13 items in the construction industry, 18 items in the water conservancy, environment and public facilities management industry, 57 items in the scientific research, comprehensive technical services and geological exploration industry, 57 items in the transportation, warehousing and post and telecommunications industry. There are 85 items in health, sports and social welfare industries, 3 items in education, 35 items in information transmission, computer services and software industries, and 36 items in other industries.
A total of 6,252 technology contracts of various types were signed throughout the year, with a total contract turnover of 7.161 billion yuan. Among them, there were 3,196 technology development contracts with a transaction value of 4.66 billion yuan; 345 technology transfer contracts with a transaction value of 807 million yuan; 254 technical consulting contracts with a transaction value of 221 million yuan; and 2,457 technical service contracts with a transaction value of 1.474 billion yuan.
A total of 15,570 patent applications were accepted throughout the year, including 5,858 invention patents, 5,798 utility model patents, and 3,914 design patents; the total number of patent authorizations was 6,087, including 1,342 authorized invention patents. There are 3,446 new patents and 1,299 design patents.
There are 108 various product quality supervision and inspection institutions in the province, one more than the previous year, and 20 national testing centers in Shaanxi.
