Shallow logic is easy to see. BYD and Toyota learn from each other's strong points in technology and make progress together. Toyota and BYD seek to win a high share of China's new energy market through this cooperation.

Deep logic? There are many possibilities.

There is no doubt that new energy vehicles related to the China market will be launched among them, which is a good thing for the automobile consumption market. However, only from this dimension, it is still shallow. After all, nothing can be judged until the product is officially listed and the price is announced.

From the enterprise dimension, it is more interesting. Different from the previous development model of automobile enterprises, Toyota and BYD are currently using the ecological model to sublimate the traditional core technology+OEM supply chain model.

Investing in advanced technology and cooperating with related companies with technological advantages to learn from each other's strengths are not limited to non-automotive industries.

From Toyota's point of view, we can mobilize more related resources through the expansion of this ecological circle, such as the self-driving experience in China, BYD's e-platform+high integration+intelligent performance, which can make Toyota take as few detours as possible. Another important node is the power battery.

According to Toyota's related plan, Panasonic Electric Vehicle Energy Company, a subsidiary responsible for battery production, will build the fourth hybrid vehicle battery factory in China. Although Toyota and Contemporary Ampere Technology Co., Ltd. have established a comprehensive partnership in NEV power battery, the rapid landing of the joint venture between Toyota and BYD has created new opportunities.

Facing the cost and benefit of new energy power batteries in China market in the future, Toyota should make new considerations.

BYD has a complete overall solution for new energy vehicles, while Contemporary Ampere Technology Co., Ltd. has the advantages of large shipment and sufficient production capacity. BYD's new lithium iron phosphate battery has the advantages of lower cost and comparable endurance performance, while Contemporary Ampere Technology Co., Ltd. has shortcomings in this respect.
