"The medal is back, and the Nightingale spirit will stay in the First Hospital of Heavy Medicine forever!" On September 15, Zhao Qinghua, Deputy Director of Nursing Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, won the Nightingale Medal of 20 15. She is the first medical worker in a local medical institution in Chongqing to win the Nightingale Medal.

The Nightingale Award is the highest honor established by the International Committee of the Red Cross to recognize outstanding nursing staff who have made outstanding contributions to the humanitarian cause. This year, 36 nursing workers from 18 countries won the nightingale medal. The five award-winning nurses in China are Du Liqun, head nurse of AIDS Department of Nanning Fourth People's Hospital, Song Jing, director of nursing department of Zhecheng County People's Hospital, Xing, head nurse of China People's Liberation Army No.302 Hospital, deputy director of nursing department of Inner Mongolia People's Hospital, and Zhao Qinghua, deputy director of nursing department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. The award ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of 15. Central leaders presented medals to five winners in China.

Zhao Qinghua became attached to the health care industry because she witnessed the sudden death of her grandmother when she was a child. At that time, Zhao Qinghua was only 6 years old, and her grandmother, who was coaxing her to take a nap, suddenly fell and left her forever. Birth, aging, illness and death are natural laws, and the bounden duty of doctors and nurses is to heal the wounded and rescue the dying-after Zhao Qinghua became sensible, this became her dream.

Later, she hoped to wear the long-awaited dovetail hat. 199 1 year, Zhao Qinghua met an elderly female patient with gastric leiomyosarcoma complicated with coronary heart disease in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, and needed to use epirubicin for chemotherapy. This medicine has great side effects. At that time, the patient's blood vessels were very thin, and venipuncture was difficult. At that time, Zhao Qinghua was pregnant. She looked at the dying old man and thought of her grandmother ... she resolutely undertook the chemotherapy care of her mother-in-law. Every time she goes to chemotherapy, Zhao Qinghua squats for an hour ... She is very conscientious, but she didn't expect bad luck to befall her-overwork and mental stress led to her miscarriage.

Zhao Qinghua was in great pain when she lost her child. During the sick leave, she heard that her mother-in-law did not cooperate with the treatment after leaving her job. "I will wait for Xiao Zhao to come back, and I will believe her!" Hearing this, Zhao Qinghua was anxious. "My mother-in-law is so critical, how can she wait!" Zhao Qinghua returned to work despite the opposition of his family. This persistence lasted for eight months, so Zhao Qinghua fell into complications and lost her qualification as a mother forever.

Zhao Qinghua, who can't have her own children, became the mother of children who lost their mothers. In the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, she and her colleagues reinforced Beichuan. In the makeshift tent hospital, a 17-year-old injured boy has been curled up in the hospital bed, his thin body trembled from time to time, and he often muttered: Mom, Mom ... The earthquake made the boy lose 18 relatives, including his mother. Every time I look at him, Zhao Qinghua is always in tears. "If my children could come into this world, they would be so big now." Zhao Qinghua accompanied the boy every day to soothe his serious psychological trauma. On the day the boy was discharged from the hospital, he took the initiative to say to Zhao Qinghua: "My mother was also a nurse before her death. Can I call you mom in the future? " The two embraced and wept.

Having been engaged in nursing for 33 years, Zhao Qinghua has participated in the rescue tasks of SARS, earthquake, H 1N 1 and other emergencies. She is enthusiastic about AIDS prevention, organ donation and other Red Cross volunteer services, founded the first nurse volunteer team of Chongqing Red Cross Society, and participated in the preparation of the first nursing night university in Chongqing. Her medical and nursing team won a series of honors, such as the gold medal in the nurse post skill competition of the Ministry of Health, the excellent hospital of quality nursing and the first batch of national key clinical specialties.
