Incorrect maintenance methods lead to car damage?

Many car owners are in love with their cars, but they don't know that some maintenance habits will even cause harm to their cars. So how can we properly maintain our car and avoid some incorrect maintenance methods from damaging it?

1. Wheel maintenance Don't oil the bolts and nuts like tires. In order to prevent the bolts and nuts on the wheels from rusting, a few private car owners ingeniously coated the bolts and nuts with lubricating oil during installation. However, this practice is not only wrong, but also brings certain hidden dangers to driving safety. After the bolts and nuts are tightened, they are self-locking. However, after being coated with lubricating oil, the self-locking coefficient between them becomes smaller and the self-locking performance decreases. When the car is driving at high speed, the bolts and nuts are easy to loosen or even fall off, thus causing traffic accidents.

2. Don't wash the inside of the car body with water. It's summer. It is common for private car owners to wash their bodies with water and wipe them with rags. What needs to be reminded to private car owners here is that it is best not to wash the car body directly with water. Because the bottom surface of the floor mat in the cab is not "Ma Pingchuan", there are many grooves and through holes under the floor mat in the cab due to structural requirements. After washing with water, it will either be deposited in the groove and difficult to dry, or it will flow from the through hole to the gearbox and other parts to cause corrosion. Especially for cars with good sealing performance, it is impossible to directly wash the interior of the car body with water. The correct way is to wipe with a wet rag, but avoid water accumulation.

3. Don't mix different brands of coolant. Everyone knows that engine coolant should be added in time when it is insufficient, but have you ever used different brands of coolant together? If so, I advise you to put down the coolant as soon as possible and refill it with the same brand of coolant. Because the chemical properties of different brands of coolant may vary greatly, such as an effective preservative for ferrous metals, but it often has a corrosive effect on aluminum products; But preservatives suitable for aluminum alloys are harmful to ferroalloys. Because different brands of coolant use different preservatives, they cannot be mixed.

4. It is the habit of many drivers to start the EFI car without stepping on the accelerator, especially when the cold car starts in winter. However, this starting mode is not suitable for EFI vehicles. The engine equipped with electronic fuel injection device is different from the ordinary carburetor engine. Its fuel injection control device can automatically adjust the fuel supply according to the temperature and working condition of the engine, so that the engine can start smoothly, that is, when the cold car starts, the fuel injection control device can automatically increase the fuel supply. Therefore, when the EFI automobile engine is started, the accelerator does not need to be stepped on, let alone continuously stepped on, otherwise the engine will not start well.
