As we all know, 20 19 is the first year of 5G, and all countries have started their own 5G construction. As one of the best suppliers of 5G equipment in the world, Huawei has won more than 60 5G contracts. But in addition to many countries that choose to cooperate with Huawei, there are also some countries that insist on "not taking the usual path", such as Vietnam.
As early as the first half of this year, Vietnam announced plans to independently develop 5G, with an estimated investment of several million dollars. For this Southeast Asian country, which is relatively backward in the field of telecommunications and has no local suppliers of 5G equipment, the practice of self-research seems unrealistic, and millions of dollars of investment can hardly support the start of the country's 5G industry. Surprisingly, however, Vietnam not only did not give up its plan to develop 5G, but also had a new "plan". However, this plan also exposed various problems in Vietnam.
Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communication plans to close the country's 2G network in early 2022 to increase the spectrum of 4G and 5G. It is worth noting that Vietnam only announced plans to increase the auction of 4G spectrum two months ago, because the existing 4G spectrum in the country has been completely occupied, resulting in extremely low domestic network speed. Now Vietnam is shutting down the 2G network to "make more room" for the construction of the 5G network, so as not to face full-load operation again.
