The role of plastic corona processor

The function of plastic corona processor is to modify, graft and polymerize various homogeneous film materials.

Corona machine is a device for surface pretreatment of silicone rubber, plastic and other materials. Corona treatment is a kind of electric shock treatment, which makes the substrate surface have higher adhesion. The principle is that low-temperature plasma is generated on the treated plastic surface by high-frequency and high-voltage corona discharge, so that the plastic surface reacts with free radicals and the polymer is crosslinked.

In the packaging industry, it is commonly known as corona machine, electronic impact machine and electric spark machine. Academically called dielectric barrier discharge, it deals with various homogeneous film materials, such as plastic film, metal plate, metal film, vacuum aluminized film and so on. Main uses: printing, film blowing, compounding, coating, corona treatment of metal films and modification, grafting and polymerization of homogeneous polymer film materials.

The working principle of this machine

Corona treatment is a kind of electric shock treatment, which makes the substrate surface have higher adhesion. Its principle is to use high-frequency and high-voltage corona discharge to generate low-temperature plasma on the treated plastic surface (high-frequency AC voltage is as high as 5000- 15000 V/m2), so that the plastic surface reacts with free radicals and the polymer is crosslinked.

The surface becomes rough, which increases the wettability of polar solvents-these ions destroy their molecular structure by electric shock, penetrate into the surface of the printed object, and then oxidize the polarized surface molecules, and the ion electric shock erodes the surface, thus increasing the adhesion ability of the printed object surface. The physical and chemical influence of corona treatment on plastic surface is complicated, and its effect is mainly controlled by the specific electrode system, the material medium on the guide roller and the specific electrode power.
