Tasting wine is not drinking, but art, such as appreciating a painting and listening to a piece of music. If you don't have the literacy of art and music, it is impossible to tell the good from the bad. Wine tasting is not a master's patent. If you master it, you will really enjoy the beauty of wine. Tasting generally refers to appreciating and tasting various wines, and then evaluating them through various sensory and emotional pleasures. Tasting wine is like tasting tea. It's like plowing cattle and drinking water.
Just like flirting before tenderness, there must be several moves before tasting wine. The purpose is to make the effect more exciting and enjoyable. Usually, the way of tasting wine is nothing more than observation of sight, smell and taste, which is similar to tasting tea.
Introduction to wine tasting etiquette:
1, pour the wine
After opening the bottle, hold the bottom or groove of the bottle with your right hand, and don't block the label of the wine. When pouring wine, the bottle mouth should be 2 cm higher than the glass mouth, and be careful not to touch the glass. It should be noted that the wine should not be too full, otherwise it is not convenient to shake the glass, the wine can not fully contact with oxygen, and the aroma can not be completely released. Generally speaking, the amount of wine poured is less than half the capacity of the cup. When the wine in the glass cup reaches an appropriate capacity, slightly rotate the bottom of the bottle and quickly close the bottle to avoid dripping wine.
Step 2 hold the cup
There are two common ways to hold a cup. The first is to hold the handle of the glass with thumb, forefinger and middle finger, and press the ring finger and little finger on the cup holder.
The second way is to hold the cup holder only with your thumb and forefinger, which makes it easier to control the cup and shake it. Many people like to hold the cup belly when holding it, which is actually inappropriate. Because the drinking temperature of most wines does not exceed 18℃, and the temperature of people's palms is usually higher than 30℃, holding the cup belly with their palms will heat the wine, thus affecting the flavor of the wine.
Step 3 shake the cup
When shaking the cup, hold the handle of the cup in your hand, exert strength by your wrist, and gently rotate the cup body around a point, so that the wine can rotate in the cup, contact with the air, and slowly release the aroma. If you are a beginner and can't grasp the strength, you can first try to put the cup on the table, hold the cup handle with your thumb and forefinger, draw a circle counterclockwise on the table, and then try to shake the cup off the table after you are proficient.
Step 4 clink glasses
When touching a cup, hold the cup handle or cup holder, tilt the goblet slightly towards the other side, and gently touch the other side's cup belly with the cup belly. Remember not to touch the cup with the cup mouth, because this position is very thin and easy to break. After clinking glasses, you can take a sip.
