In what year did myopia laser start?

There is more than one way to treat myopia with laser. The most common ones are PRK and LASIK.

PRK was invented by Dr. Steven Trokel of Columbia University in the United States in 1983.

LASIK was first patented in 1989 by Dr. Gholam A. Peyman of the United States. In 1992, Greek doctor Palliakaris introduced the practice of LASIK to the United States. Because LASIK is much easier to recover from than PRK surgery, it is quickly gaining popularity.
