In fact, to put it simply, CTP technology saves the assembly of battery modules and directly integrates the battery cells into the battery pack, which can improve the utilization rate of power batteries. According to the introduction of contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd., the volume utilization rate of CTP battery pack is increased by about 15%~20%, the number of parts is reduced by about 40%, and the production efficiency is increased by about 50%. For power batteries, this means that the energy density can be increased and the production cost can be reduced.

Under the influence of the current declining subsidies, the reduction of production costs can reduce the terminal selling price of vehicles to a certain extent, thus improving competitiveness. So now many OEMs and battery factories are speeding up the improvement of battery production technology, looking for new materials to improve battery energy density and reduce production costs. The CTP technology of power battery has changed the production process, and there is no innovation in materials, which is similar to BYD's upcoming super lithium iron phosphate battery. So from this point of view, although this method can increase the energy density to a certain extent, the space is limited.

However, although there is no obvious innovation in materials, it improves energy density, reduces production cost and increases market competitiveness. Therefore, many car companies have begun to develop CTP technology, including honeycomb energy. Therefore, in the short term, CTP technology of power battery will gradually become one of the trends. But in the long run, material innovation is still needed to solve the real problem of low energy density and stability.
