The Shenzhou 5 manned spacecraft is the fifth in the "Shenzhou" series of spacecraft and the first manned spacecraft launched by China. Shenzhou 5 was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 9:00 on October 15, 2003, sending astronaut Yang Liwei and a Chinese flag into space, and returned at 6:23 on October 16, 2003.
The Shenzhou-5 spacecraft consists of an orbital module, a return module, a propulsion module and additional sections, with a total length of 8860mm and a total weight of 7840kg.
