There is a big gap between my country and developed countries or regions in the production and application of patent maps. So far, only a handful of companies have used patent maps to serve them. One of the important reasons is that many companies do not understand patent maps, let alone how to make patent maps.
Strategists need military maps, travelers need tourist maps, explorers need geological maps, and decision-makers on intellectual property strategies also need a map to simplify and visualize the complicated patent information. This is Patent map. As a tool for collecting, organizing and utilizing patent information, patent maps can provide information support at different levels such as countries, regions, industries, and institutions, and serve the intellectual property strategy currently being implemented in my country. Therefore, paying attention to and carrying out the research and application of patent maps is of great significance for formulating and implementing intellectual property strategies and enhancing enterprises' independent innovation capabilities.
