The difference between DCT and DSG

When the friction is large, it will inevitably heat up. So both DSG and DCT are easy to decompose. But because of the 6-speed wet gearbox, it is better than the 7-speed case! But it will take longer.

So what is the difference between DSG and DCT? In fact, the electronic module of gear shifting is different. The 6-speed one is from American Borgwarner, and then Borgwarner is called DCT gearbox. Later, all automakers were called DCT gearboxes because of the need of publicity.

DSG is the name of the German public. Why? Because Volkswagen also has a 7-speed gearbox. In Volkswagen, the 7-speed DSG is called DQ200, while the 6-speed DSG is called DQ250, which is the 6-speed DCT of Borg Warner.

DQ200 of DSG is the core component provided by Germany LuK (Schaeffler Group). DQ200 is also a dry gearbox. So it is more likely to go wrong.

Therefore, to sum up, DSG refers to Volkswagen's 7-speed (and only Volkswagen has it), while DCT refers to all 6-speed.

Then why do some people like to make such bad things? And now many domestic manufacturers are reusing it?

Volkswagen is because of the game between vehicle manufacturers and gearbox suppliers. Because Volkswagen has been stuck in upstream suppliers, Volkswagen is trying to get rid of its dependence.

And what about other manufacturers? This is also the case. In particular, ordinary hydraulic torque converters, especially electronic modules, are made by Bosch and Delphi, so you can imagine that such patent fees are ready-made every year. Anyway, how much will the automatic transmission give them? A book is profitable. In fact, the cpu arms in the mobile phone industry are similar.

Then, our country is different from ordinary at, so we take the road of dct. Why? It is very simple, because there is something wrong with dct, the owner of dct has only two ways, either insisting on technology, being overthrown or sharing technology. Let more people participate, since everyone has the same interests, then using the problematic technology, then the problem is no longer a problem.

So, how to overcome this problem? 1 method

Adjust electronic shift, advance shift and modify parameters. The advantage is that you don't need to change anything, just like people run fast and wear more. Then what should I do? It's simple. I'll give you a pair of big shoes that don't fit you and make you run fast. Shift gears before the engine power is exerted, so the transmitted force is small, so the friction is small, so the wear is small.

So because of this, this is the reason why dct is not fuel-efficient in China.
