If it is a company, but it has nothing to do with your job, then you can also apply as an applicant. If you are not from the same company, for example, inventions during assignment or inventions during cooperation, then your superior unit should be the applicant and you are the inventor. Theoretically, a person who only provides material and economic conditions for an invention should not be an inventor, but the qualification of the inventor is not examined during patent examination, and the inventor only needs to discuss and confirm it. After the invention is authorized, the company will reward you, and when the patent produces benefits, you will also enjoy a certain percentage of license fees or profits.
