Why does Gree compete with Oaks?

In fact, it is not the first time that Gree and Oaks have fought over the infringement of air-conditioning patents. From 20 16 to 20 18, Gree sued Oaks Air Conditioning for "infringing the patent right of utility model" and won the case 12 times. It can be seen that Gree and Oaks have deep grievances.

In April last year, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court made a first-instance judgment on three patent infringement disputes between Gree Electric and Oaks, and ruled that Oaks compensated Gree Electric for 46 million yuan in economic losses, setting a new record for patent infringement compensation in the home appliance industry.

In this patent infringement lawsuit, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court found that several air-conditioning products 10, such as Oxkin, Speedman and Geek, infringed three patents of Gree Electric, such as water-dish integration, double air duct air conditioning and air-conditioning indoor unit.

Because the patent issues involved in this case are quite professional, in a previous public hearing, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court not only moved four air conditioners to be disassembled for inspection, but also specially hired 17 "technical foreign aid" engaged in chemical work as the "technical investigator" of this case.
