What is a toilet flange?

Toilet flange ring:

The toilet flange ring serves to connect the toilet and the water outlet. It is installed at the bottom of the toilet water outlet. It is a sealing ring that plays a sealing role. It can prevent the sewage in the toilet from flushing out of the sewage pipe, and also prevent the odor from the sewage pipe from coming up.

This is a product that was developed later. The old toilet installation method did not use the toilet flange ring that was not used in the original toilet installation.

The biggest function of using the toilet flange sealing ring is that it can facilitate us to position the toilet during installation, avoid the phenomenon that the toilet drain outlet deviates from the sewage pipe after installation, and it can also be sealed, odor-proof and leak-proof. It will facilitate future repair and maintenance work. Once the toilet is clogged, we can easily move the toilet without damaging the sewage outlet after using cement.

Toilet flange ring installation

First make sure to close the water valve (the water valve at the toilet or the main water valve) and flush out the water in the water tank and toilet bowl. , suck up all the remaining water in the water tank and toilet bowl. You can use a thick towel or sponge for this. Remove the nut cover that holds the potty base to the ground and unscrew the nuts, you may need to use lube and a vise at this point. Disconnect the water supply pipe. Gently rock the toilet back and forth to loosen the wax seal and glass sealant. Carefully grasp the potty, not the tank. If you grab the tank, you may damage or crack the connection between the tank and the bowl. Remove the old wax seals from the two joint surfaces. Unwrap the new flange ring (you can buy it at the hardware store), with the round side facing up, and place it over the flange on the ground so that it is directly above the opening. Make sure both screws are in place.

Lift the toilet and place it over the flange and wax seal, keeping the toilet as level as possible. Sit on the toilet to help the new flange seal and make sure the bowl remains level. Reinstall the nuts you just removed. Hand-tighten the nuts to avoid cracking the bottom of the toilet. Reconnect the water supply pipe, open the water valve, allow the water tank to accumulate water, flush and check for leaks. If necessary, apply glass glue between the gap between the toilet bowl and the floor. You're done! Anyway, it’s not difficult. Finally, remember to wash your hands with hand sanitizer.
