Why doesn't Meizu PRO6 use Exynos8890?

MediaTek is ahead in the number of cores, but all other parameters are not as good as those of the processors produced by friends, including the most important data such as RAM, ROM and process technology. It can be said that Helio X20 can only belong to a mid-range processor in 20 16 years. Besides, we won't talk about those processors this year. Even compared with last year's Exynos7420, the parameters are far from each other. Some netizens may ask why Meizu's flagship mobile phone will use Helio X25 instead of Exynos8890 this year. Isn't the relationship between Meizu and Samsung very good? IT House thinks that Meizu can't get Exynos8890, or because the whole netcom baseband limits the processor carried by PRO6.

As we know, at present, the 2G and 3G networks adopted by China Telecom adopt the CDMA network standard, while the 4G adopts the FDD-LTE network standard. As we all know, Qualcomm has almost monopolized the global CDMA market. If other manufacturers adopt CDMA system, they will inevitably bypass the patent wall in Qualcomm. Even processor manufacturers like Samsung and Huawei have to remove their support for CDMA from their processors, not because they don't want to do so, but because the CDMA patent wall in Qualcomm is too high. MediaTek acquired relevant CDMA companies and obtained the authorization of CDMA, thus adding support for CDMA in its baseband.

In that case. Last year, Exynos7420 on Meizu PRO5 did not support CDMA network. Isn't it listed as usual? What a big deal! Exynos8890 on Meizu PRO6 does not support CDMA. This is about to say the following news.

IT House previously reported that China Unicom and China Telecom announced that their mobile phones are compatible with each other, realizing the real full netcom. The white paper requires that all future mobile terminals must support six networks and six modes, namely GSM, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, FDD-LTE and WCDMA, among which CDMA is naturally supported. In 20 16 years, mobile phones supporting full netcom will become the mainstream of the whole mobile phone market. As a veteran mobile phone manufacturer, Meizu is not far behind, and has increased its support for Netcom in its own mobile phones. We know that Samsung adopted Qualcomm Xiaolong 820 instead of Exynos8890 in the Bank of China, and the US version S7/Edge and the Hong Kong version GalaxyS7 Edge must have supported the whole Netcom. The United States, like China, has its own CDMA network, so naturally Samsung has adopted Xiaolong 820 in both markets. If Meizu is not equipped with a processor supporting the whole netcom, it will face the dilemma of no mobile phone listing in 20 16 years. Li Nan also expressed her frustration that Exynos8890 doesn't support full netcom in the internal WeChat group.

For Meizu, the future mobile phone is likely to be rigidly restricted by the whole network. If you plug in Qualcomm's full netcom baseband, the cost will inevitably increase a lot. Only rich Samsung and Apple will consider doing this, which is obviously unbearable for Meizu. At present, only Huawei Hisilicon (baseband plug-in), Qualcomm Snapdragon and MediaTek Helio support full netcom. The relationship between Meizu and Qualcomm is obviously not as close as that of Samsung, so it is naturally difficult to get the Xiaolong 820. For Meizu, adopting HelioX25 in PRO6 is just a helpless move. If the policies of the two telecom companies do not change in the future, Meizu mobile phones are likely to miss Samsung processors. Unless the CDMA patent expires, Qualcomm will no longer have the patent wall as it does now, and then Samsung and other companies will allow CDMA support to be added to the baseband. By then, Meizu will regain Samsung's processor. Meizu's second way is to reconcile with Qualcomm and install the flagship Opteron processor on its future flagship machine. At least for now, Helio X25 equipped with PRO6 is not the best choice for Meizu.
