In May 2011, Qualcomm announced the completion of its acquisition of Atheros. The Atheros team will operate as Qualcomm Atheros, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. In addition, Qualcomm's team responsible for connection technology will be transferred to Qualcomm Atheros to integrate the resources and technology roadmaps of both parties. Qualcomm Atheros is a leading provider of wireless and wired technologies for the mobile, networking, computing and consumer electronics markets, developing connectivity technologies that help people stay connected quickly and easily.
Qualcomm Ventures
Qualcomm Ventures was established in November 2000 and has committed to provide strategic investment to early-stage high-tech companies with a start-up fund of US$500 million. Since then, Qualcomm Ventures has invested in numerous companies in the wireless communications space and established regional independent funds to stimulate development in key strategic markets. In China, Qualcomm announced the establishment of a US$100 million venture capital fund in June 2003, aiming to invest in and cooperate with domestic innovative companies to promote the application and development of wireless services. The target companies are particularly positioned in Early to mid-stage Chinese companies.
Qualcomm Technology Licensing Division
