Russian PP-2000 submachine gun

Russian PP-2000 submachine gun: an individual self-defense weapon launched by the Tula KBP Design Bureau in 2004. It is mainly equipped with special forces and special police teams, special service personnel and rear officers, etc.

The PP2000 has a unique appearance, like a pistol, and can be operated with one hand or like a normal rifle.

Because there is an integrated grip on the front, and the magazine is installed at the bottom of the grip like a normal pistol. The entire gun also adopts an engineering plastic structure, is short in size, and weighs only 1.4 kilograms when empty.

During the Second Drive War, the Russian special forces were conducting anti-terrorist operations deep into mountains, jungles, and houses. They urgently needed a submachine gun with powerful firepower that could adapt to these special environments.

In 2004, Russia's Tula Instrument Design Bureau designed this weird-looking miniature submachine gun, the PP-2000 new submachine gun, based on the requirements of the military.

The PP-2000 submachine gun weighs only 1.4 kg (empty weight) and is only 300 mm in length. It has three magazines of 20 rounds, 30 rounds and 44 rounds (adhering to the Russian firepower supremacy) principle), the 44-round magazine can be inserted into the tail of the gun and used as a butt. Later, a folding metal butt on the right side was added.

This submachine gun, taking into account the needs of special operations, requires both ferocious and precise firepower and the ability to operate with one hand, so a rate-of-fire slowing mechanism is specially designed to control the rate of fire at about 600 rounds per minute. Even if you hold the gun with one hand and shoot it, the bullet spread area is not large, and it is easy to control the gun body.

This gun was first exhibited at the 2004 Moscow International Arms Show. It was developed by the famous Instrument Design Bureau in Tula, Russia. In fact, it applied for the appearance patent of this weapon as early as 2001. , has successively disclosed patent information in relevant Russian departments.

The upper part of the structure includes the barrel, mechanical sights, upper machine cover with guide rails and charging handle. The barrel uses 1, and the standard rifling twist of 4 right-handed rifling is 1 :9 barrel, the protruding handguard at the muzzle is equipped with a flash suppressor, which can also be replaced with a dedicated silencer.

There is a front sight above the muzzle. The front sight cooperates with the fixed notched rear sight on the rear of the gun for mechanical aiming. Of course, you can also install an optical sight through the guide rail on the upper machine cover for aiming, such as Laser sights and red dot holographic sights and more.

However, when the optical sighting mechanism is installed on the rail, the rear sight will be blocked, so at this time, these sighting mechanisms can only be used for aiming.

Putin played with the PP2000 submachine gun at the weapons exhibition

In order to effectively suppress gangsters wearing bulletproof equipment, police submachine guns in Western countries have turned to special small-caliber high-speed ammunition, and the PP2000 The submachine gun still insists on using the traditional 9×19mm caliber ammunition.

This is because Russia has developed a 9×19mm caliber 7N21 special bullet that can penetrate body armor.

The mass-produced PP-2000 also adds a Picatinny rail on the top of the receiver, which can easily install various optoelectronic sighting devices, such as KORBA red dot sights or "Apex 4TK" laser pointers. etc. In addition, the "Vertex 2C" tactical light with a special interface can be hung on the bottom of the foregrip.

The PP-2000 range is set at 100 meters. Although some information states that it can aim at targets at a distance of 200 meters, the PP-2000 is more suitable for dealing with targets within a 100-meter range.

Uses of PP-2000:

1. Used as a self-defense weapon for second-line combatants such as pilots, armored combat vehicle crews, artillerymen, and drivers.

2. As a concealed weapon carried by important security personnel.

3. As a CQB melee weapon for law enforcement in urban environments.
