What is EDI?
EDI, also known as continuous electric desalination technology, combines traditional electrodialysis technology and ion exchange technology. Under the action of electric field force, cation and anion are selectively permeated through cation and anion membranes. The cross-linking effect and the exchange effect of ion exchange resin on ions in water cause ions in water to migrate in a directional manner, thereby achieving deep purification and desalination of water. The hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions generated by water electrolysis continuously regenerate the resin. Therefore, the EDI module water production process does not require acid-base chemical regeneration to continuously produce high-quality ultrapure water.
