Macroporous adsorption resin is a kind of organic polymer adsorbent developed in modern times, which has been applied to the extraction and separation of Chinese herbal medicine components since the late 1970s. Macroporous resin was used to adsorb sugars, alkaloids and flavonoids in the plant chemistry room of Institute of Pharmacology, China Academy of Medical Sciences, and it was used to extract and separate gastrodia elata, Paeonia lactiflora, Ganoderma lucidum, yam and other Chinese herbal medicines. The results show that macroporous resin is an effective method to separate water-soluble components of Chinese herbal medicine. Glycyrrhizin crystals can be extracted and separated from licorice by this method. The dynamic adsorption of LD605 resin was studied and its adsorption characteristics were compared with the water extracts of four effective parts of traditional Chinese medicine (coptis chinensis, pueraria lobata, salvia miltiorrhiza and gypsum) containing alkaloids, flavonoids, water-soluble phenolic compounds and inorganic minerals. The results showed that, except inorganic minerals, other effective parts of traditional Chinese medicine could be adsorbed and purified by resin to varying degrees. The study on the adsorption of hydrophilic phenolic derivatives by macroporous adsorption resins with different structures shows that different types of macroporous adsorption resins can enrich a small amount of hydrophilic phenolic derivatives from extremely dilute aqueous solutions and are easy to elute. The adsorption effect varies with the structure of adsorbents, and the adsorption capacity of similar adsorbents on various resins is related to their polar water solubility. Gynostemma pentaphyllum saponin was extracted with D-type nonpolar resin, and the total saponin yield was about 2. 15%. Gui You decoction was refined by D 1300 macroporous resin, and the yield of dry extract was between 4% and 5%. The obtained dry extract is not easy to absorb moisture and easy to store. Based on 5- hydroxymethyl hydroxyaldehyde, its adsorption recovery rate is 83.3%. Total stevioside was extracted with D- 10 1 nonpolar resin. The yield of crude product is about 8%, and the yield of refined product is about 3%. Macroporous adsorption resin is used to extract and refine Panax Notoginseng saponins, which has high purity, stable quality and low cost. Ginkgo biloba leaves were extracted by macroporous adsorption resin, and the content of ginkgo flavone in the extract was stable at more than 26%. Content of ligustrazine and ferulic acid in total extract of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort. After separation by macroporous adsorption resin of Jiangsu Sikes Resin Co., Ltd., it was about 25% ~ 29% and the yield was 0.6%. In addition, macroporous adsorption resin can also be used for pre-separation of samples before content determination.
