Lin Xie's personal story

Watermelon and fruit cane are two major cash crops in Wenling City. Due to the mismatch of previous cultivation techniques, the yield and benefit have stagnated. Faced with this situation, from the end of 1980s, she began to carry out research on high-yield cultivation techniques of watermelon, comprehensive management of continuous cropping obstacles of watermelon and high-quality and high-yield cultivation techniques of fruit cane in Wenling, making Wenling the "hometown of watermelon in greenhouse in China" and "hometown of fruit cane in China". Academician Wu Mingzhu, a famous melon expert in China, spoke highly of Lin Yi's cultivation technology of Yulin watermelon, which is a great innovation of watermelon production technology in China.

For farmers' friends, Lin Yi is responsive. Before the Spring Festival in 2007, all the offices were on holiday. The melon farmers in Ruoheng Town called Lin Xie for help, saying that watermelons have diseases. Lin Yi put down the phone and rushed to the watermelon field dozens of miles away to help watermelon farmers find the cause, and faxed and sent messages to farmers' mailboxes overnight to inform large watermelon growers to prevent and control watermelon root rot before the Spring Festival.

Less than 7: 00 a.m. on the first day of New Year's Day in 2007, Lin Yi's family rang the call for help from Wenling farmers who planted watermelons in Yunnan. The melon farmers didn't sleep well all night because of melon disease. According to the epidemic situation, Lin Yi gave melon farmers a prescription for prevention and treatment. Later, melon farmers had a bumper harvest.

In June 2003, Peng, the "watermelon king" in Wenling, and other farmers' 700-mu watermelon base in Hainan was damaged by typhoon disaster. Appointed by the municipal government, she rushed to Hainan overnight to guide melon farmers to carry out self-help work in production. She visited piece by piece. She instructed melon farmers to prune and cut off broken leaves, and then controlled them with chemicals. Under her guidance, the loss of watermelon was minimized. On the afternoon of August 12, 2004, the morning before Typhoon Yunna landed, she went to Songmen greenhouse base and Songmen farm regardless of the rainstorm, and instructed vegetable farmers to break the film with a knife. After coming back, she and her colleagues worked out the Opinions on Crop Management after the Disaster in Taiwan Province overnight, and conveyed them to the farmers the next day. Before the flood receded on June 5438+03, she went to Ruoheng, Songmen, Zeguo and other places nonstop to guide agricultural production to save themselves and minimize farmers' losses.

In order to "Yulin" watermelon and increase farmers' income, Lin Yi has gone through hardships for 25 years.

We should cultivate "golden watermelons" for farmers.

In the early 1990s, Wenling introduced a new variety of Zaojia watermelon from Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences. This kind of watermelon has good quality, but its disease resistance is not strong and it is easy to crack.

Wenling is wet and rainy, the quality of watermelon is not high, and the yield benefit is low. Growing watermelons requires science and technology. The higher the technological content, the higher the gold content of watermelon. In order to let the peasant brothers hold a "golden melon", Lin Yi began to study the high-yield cultivation techniques of watermelon. She went deep into the fields to guide melon farmers to adopt small arch shed cultivation first, then develop into greenhouse cultivation, and then March into high quality and high yield according to the characteristics of greenhouse facilities cultivation. Through the study of different fertilization, density, variety and pest control, the long-season cultivation technology of "Yulin" watermelon was studied for the first time in China. This achievement broke through the technical problem of long-season cultivation in wet and rainy areas in southern China, and achieved high quality, high yield and long sales season. It was appraised by Academician Wu Mingzhu, a famous melon expert in China, as "Yulin watermelon cultivation technology is a great innovation of watermelon production technology in China, reaching the domestic leading level".

This set of watermelon cultivation techniques studied by Lin Yi can be cultivated for a long time with high quality, early market, early maturity and high yield through sparse planting. Four to six batches can be picked throughout the year, and the yield per mu is as high as 4000 kg. At present, "Yulin" watermelon planting technology has also been extended to Hainan, Guangdong, Shanghai and other provinces and cities 15, with a cumulative increase of more than 1 10,000 mu, with an additional benefit of more than 2.2 billion yuan. "Yulin" watermelon has become a famous watermelon brand and enjoys a high reputation throughout the country. The Research and Promotion of Watermelon Cultivation Techniques in Yulin hosted by Lin Xie won the third prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award.

However, with the rapid development of watermelon, soil-borne diseases caused watermelon wilt, which seriously restricted the sustainable development of watermelon industry in Wenling. In order to solve this problem, Lin Xie led the research group to study the high-yield cultivation techniques of watermelon continuous cropping from the aspects of rootstock selection and grafting cultivation techniques. In order to maintain the original quality of Zaojia watermelon, she chose several rootstock varieties such as gourd rootstock 1 and Shentongli for grafting research, so that the high-temperature resistant watermelon seedlings can spend the summer safely. After several years' efforts, Lin Yi presided over the "Study on High-yield Cultivation Techniques of Watermelon Continuous Cropping in Protected Field", which broke through the major technical problem of watermelon continuous cropping and provided a new way to control the occurrence of Fusarium wilt, which provided strong technical support for the sustainable development of watermelon planting in Wenling and even inside and outside the province. "Breeding method of special hybrid rootstock for controlling watermelon Fusarium wilt in protected field" won the national invention patent, the second prize of Zhejiang agricultural harvest and the third prize of Taizhou scientific and technological progress.

At the end of March and the beginning of April, 2005, grafted watermelon seedlings in Xinhe, Songmen and other places in Wenling died one after another, which was the first time that grafted watermelon withered and died in a large area in Zhejiang Province, and melon farmers could do nothing about it. Experts in the province concluded that the wilt and death of grafted watermelon in Wenling may be caused by the specialization of Fusarium oxysporum gourd. Lin Yi disagrees with this conclusion. To this end, she immediately began to "study the causes and control techniques of grafted watermelon Fusarium wilt", finally found out the main reasons for the death of grafted watermelon Fusarium wilt, and finally overturned the expert's conclusion. On March 27th and 30th, 2006, 60 mu of grafted watermelons from three melon farmers, namely, Li's 12mu grafted watermelons from Liqiao Village in Ruoheng Town and Cangshantang in Songmen, wilted. After learning this situation, he asked four melon farmers, including Li and Li, to control it according to their own research methods. The result is less than half a month.

"Tell the truth for farmers' friends"

As a representative of the people, she shares her worries for the country, worries for the people and dares to tell the truth for the farmers. Since she was elected as a deputy to the National People's Congress 10, the issues she cares about are the hot issues that the people are most concerned about, and the problems reflected are the focus issues that the people urgently demand to solve. She put forward more than 30 proposals, suggestions, criticisms and opinions at Taizhou People's Congress.

Before the first session of the Second National People's Congress in Taizhou in March 2000, she visited counties, cities and voters, and learned that vegetable production has developed rapidly since the implementation of the "vegetable basket" project in Taizhou, but the problem of pesticide residues in vegetables has not attracted enough attention from the government. In this regard, she asked the Taizhou municipal government to put the production of "safe food" on the agenda and start the whole Taizhou "safe food" project as soon as possible to ensure the safety of consumers. Therefore, he took the lead in putting forward the proposal of "starting the project of" safe food "as soon as possible" and submitted it to the conference, which attracted great attention of the delegates and the Taizhou Municipal Government, and was taken as the No.1 proposal at the First Session of the Second Taizhou Municipal People's Congress and followed up by the news media.

Taizhou Phase II water supply project is a hot issue that people in Jiaojiang, Huangyan, Luqiao, Wenling and Yuhuan pay close attention to. She has been paying attention to it, and has investigated 10 for more than 0 times, and led five proposals. At various forums attended by Taizhou Municipal People's Congress, she put forward opinions and suggestions on adjusting the water price and quantity of Taizhou Water Supply Phase II Project and ensuring water quality.

After being elected as a deputy to the National People's Congress this year, she visited farmers in rural areas, visited people's congresses at all levels such as provinces, cities and counties, visited agriculture-related departments and related law firms in relevant provinces, cities and counties, and prepared proposals on amending the law on agricultural technology popularization, amending some provisions of the law on deputies to the National People's Congress and local people's congresses, amending some provisions of the Regulations on Work-related Injury Insurance, optimizing the investment environment for "going out of agriculture" and exempting the "green passage" tolls for agricultural products transportation.
