Necessary procedures for applying for invention patent in Malaysia
1. Submit an application: the applicant submits an application to the Malaysian Intellectual Property Office (hereinafter referred to as the "Patent Office");
2. Application acceptance: the Patent Office issues an acceptance notice;
3. Formal examination: the Patent Office examines the patent format and obvious substantive defects;
4. Patent disclosure: the patent application will be disclosed after the expiration of 18 months from the filing date (priority date);
