What is azvudine?

Afuddin tablet is an oral small molecule antiviral drug independently developed in China, which belongs to a new nucleoside helper protein Vif and reverse transcriptase inhibitor, and is also the first dual-target anti-HIV (HIV- 1) drug.

Azvudine, also known as azifodine, was invented by Professor Chang Junbiao and jointly developed by Henan Ruier Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou University, Henan Normal University and High-tech Research Center of Henan Academy of Sciences. It is an HIV reverse transcriptase (RT) inhibitor, which belongs to the world's advanced and domestic first-generation drug for treating AIDS.

Used for the treatment of AIDS: used in combination with nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors to treat adult HIV- 1 infected patients with high viral load (HIV- 1 RNA ≥ 100000 copies /ml).

Afuddin is a synthetic nucleoside analogue, which can be phosphorylated in cells and become an active 5'- triphosphate metabolite (Afuddin triphosphate). The latter can inhibit the activity of recombinant HIV reverse transcriptase, leading to the suspension of viral DNA chain synthesis.

What drugs does Azov usually use with? When used to treat AIDS, it needs to be used in combination with nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors.
