Why should AIDS drug patents not be protected?
The exclusive result of patent protection will inevitably lead to monopoly profits, which in turn will lead to a sharp rise in the price of patented drugs. Theoretically, only by protecting and implementing property rights can we provide a safer environment for technology transfer to developing countries, but in reality, the high drug prices caused by property rights protection only limit the access of the poor to drugs. Of course, the former is more important in saving lives and protecting patents.
