Is Lucky Fish Tilapia? In fact, Fushou fish is a new species obtained by crossing Nile tilapia as the male parent and Mozambique tilapia (African crucian carp). It has obvious hybrid vigor and its growth rate is about one-third faster than that of its parent. . The fry that hatched that year can reach 3-5 double weight after being raised for 120-180 days. Fushou fish not only has tender meat and a delicious taste, but also has high fat and protein content. It also has the advantages of wide adaptability, strong disease resistance, being omnivorous and eating less feed. Polyculture of Fushou fish can increase fish culture production by more than 10% per mu. In recent years, our province has vigorously promoted the cultivation of Fushou fish, which has promoted the increase in fish pond production and income. There are more than 230,000 acres of fish ponds in the province, with a total output of 11,600 tons.
Plush fish is a tropical fish. The breeding techniques and measures are roughly the same as those of African crucian carp. The main ones are:
1. Preservation and overwintering and hybrid seed production: Lucid fish and its parent and female parents. In most areas of our province, it is not possible to survive the winter naturally. Certain cold-proof facilities must be built. It is best to maintain the water temperature between 16-18°C so that the parents and seedlings can safely survive the winter. When producing seeds, purebred parents with typical traits, good body shape, and strong physique should be selected. The male to female ratio is 3:1-4:1. The hatchery tank requires a water depth of about one meter, a flat bottom, loamy soil, and fertile water quality. When hatching seedlings, attention should be paid to catching seedlings frequently (seedlings should be caught once every three to five days) to prevent large seedlings from eating small seedlings.
2. Thick fry: The fry must be thick and thick, with a high survival rate, and can grow quickly. Therefore, the seedlings must be thickened to 1-2 inches in length before they can be cultured in adult fish ponds. Standard thick seedlings can be grown in seedling ponds, cages, rice fields or other suitable water bodies.
3. Adult fish breeding: Stocking density should depend on the fatness of the fish pond, feed conditions and product specification requirements. If mixed with the four major domestic fishes, the pond should be fat and the feed is sufficient. It can be properly kept in close proximity. 800-1,200 fish per mu can be used. Generally, it can be sparsely released, with 300-500 fish per mu. If the product quality requirements are high, it can be free-range. Fish species are planted every other year and are sparsely released, with 100-300 fish per mu. In fish ponds that are mainly used to raise fish alone or in polyculture, 3,000-5,000 fish can be stocked per acre.
The growth advantage of Fushou fish is mainly reflected in the growth stage when the body weight reaches 1-1.5 taels after two months of stocking.
Fruit fish is an omnivorous fish that feeds mainly on plants. It has strong digestive ability, likes to forage, and has high feed utilization rate. It is especially suitable for breeding in fish ponds with fertile water near the village. Better benefits can be obtained by combining fish, livestock and poultry.
4. Delay spawning and control larvae: It takes 110 to 130 days for Chinese apple fish to reach maturity. If there are too many larvae in the pond, it will affect the growth of the fish. About 50 raw fish or other carnivorous fish with a length of 3-4 cm can be put into each acre of pond in a timely manner for control.
5. Fish disease prevention and control: Lucky fish has fewer diseases, but acute gastroenteritis and myxosporidiosis sometimes occur, so prevention should be the priority. The method is to feed evenly, keep the water quality fresh, and use commonly used drugs for disinfection. Broodstock that overwinter are prone to die of saprolegnia, so broodstock should be brought into the pond at the right time and handled carefully to avoid damaging the fish body. At the same time, use 2-3 times of salt water to soak and disinfect to prevent saprolegnia infection.
