Pujiang, Sichuan has a rainy season for a long time in a year, with abundant rainfall and fertile soil, which provides a unique geographical environment for the growth of kiwi fruit tree. Some people even compare it with Topk, the kiwifruit capital of the world, and think that the soil and water characteristics of these two places are very similar.
Kiwifruit produced in Pujiang mainly includes "Jin Yan" and "Hongyang". Jin Yan kiwifruit belongs to yellow heart kiwifruit, which is hard and juicy and relatively resistant to release. Hongyang kiwifruit belongs to red-hearted kiwifruit, with bright red pulp around the seeds and high sweetness.
Kiwifruit planting method
1, planting time
The southern region is warmer, and there is basically no icing in winter. Planting in autumn rain, the northern region is generally planted in the dormant period of kiwifruit seedlings, that is, before early spring March or before kiwifruit leaves fall and germinate.
2. Soil preparation and fertilization
Generally, when the soil is loose after rain, the effect of deep ploughing will be better than other times. In the process of deep tillage, farmyard manure is applied as base fertilizer, and the application amount is more than 250 kg per mu. After deep tillage, dig a drainage ditch with a depth of about 30 cm and a row spacing of about 3 meters, and pile the dug soil in the middle of the ridge to make a tile back shape with low sides and high middle.
3. Planting method
Because kiwifruit is a dioecious plant, the male tree is responsible for pollination and the female tree is responsible for fruit bearing. Therefore, when planting, the male and female trees should be evenly dispersed according to the ratio of 1: 6 or 1: 8, and the plant spacing of 3 meters and the row spacing of 4 meters should be maintained.
4. Soil management
Soil management of kiwifruit includes deep tillage and intertillage weeding, which is generally combined with base fertilizer application. After planting 1 ~ 2 years, deeply plough the fertilizer furrow around the plant root system, clear the garden or prune, deeply plough the soil except the furrow for 20 ~ 30cm, and the weeding depth of intertillage is 10 ~ 15cm. Shallow tillage near the tree tray in spring and 6 in summer.
5. Fertilization management
Fertilization of young kiwifruit trees should be carried out several times, with thin fertilizer. It is best to use composting method to dig shallow ditches at a certain distance from the roots and seal the soil. Fertilizer and topdressing should be applied three times a year. The first topdressing 1 time is 4kg of NPK compound fertilizer per plant, the second topdressing is applied at seedling stage, and the fruit trees are harvested with 40kg of compound fertilizer and 3kg of phosphate fertilizer.
6. Water management
Because the root system of kiwifruit is shallow and the soil is too dry and wet, which is not conducive to plant growth, kiwifruit likes wet soil. In the hot and dry climate in summer, if the soil is too dry, the leaves will wither and the new buds will stop growing because of lack of water. Therefore, it is very necessary to manage the water of kiwifruit. When the soil is dry, irrigation should be carried out to keep the soil moist but not moist.
