Who invented canned food? Thank you, everyone.
Known as the "father of canned food", Nicholas Appel turned a new page in the history of science and technology. Abel was born in Xia Long-on-Marne in 1750. He had no formal education since he was a child and worked as an apprentice in a candy store. 1at the end of the 8th century1at the beginning of the 9th century, Napoleon attacked the city and plundered the land, which was unstoppable. However, the biggest headache for Napoleon was the food supply of the army. Because of the long distance and hot weather, the food will soon deteriorate, and the soldiers are not acclimatized, so the combat effectiveness of the troops was greatly frustrated, and Napoleon had to order the search for ways to keep food fresh. Just when Napoleon was worried about food, Abel, a food worker, found that food sealed in containers could be kept for a long time without deterioration as long as it was heated properly. Abel was inspired by this. From 1795, after 10 years of research, he put the washed food in a bottle and sealed it with a cork. After heating in boiling water for 30-60 minutes, heat in another boiling water pool for a longer time. This is the sealed high-pressure sterilization and preservation-food canning technology. 1806, Appel's first batch of canned food was sent to the warships of Napoleon Expeditionary Force. Since then, the soldiers in front have obtained reliable fresh-keeping food. Appel also published a paper on food preservation, which won the prize in 1809. Because Abel pioneered canning technology, human beings solved a big problem of survival. Since then, all kinds of sealed high-pressure fresh-keeping foods have been born and become the mainstream of today's food market.
