Recently, Apple obtained a patent, which shows that it is studying how to develop an iPhone without an interface. Apple applied for this patent on 20 13 and named it "hidden electronic connector".
According to Apple's patent documents, these connectors, including the charging interface of the iPhone, may be embedded in the body of the iPhone, and there is no obvious opening from the outside. The fewer openings, the less likely your iPhone will be damaged, because without openings, dust, water or anything that may damage the device cannot enter the device. And this may make Apple design the iPhone thinner.
Then the problem comes: there is no obvious charging interface outside. How will Apple charge your device?
The answer is on the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone.
In other words, Apple wants you to connect the charger to the Apple logo on the back of the fuselage and use it to charge the device. We don't know whether it will be a wireless magnetic charger like Apple Watch or a completely different charging method.
Apple can also use the word "iPhone" engraved on the back of the fuselage to turn it into a wireless charger for the device. Of course, these elements are widely used. For example, a patent obtained by Apple shows that they intend to integrate the heart rate monitor into the Apple logo of the iPhone.
At present, there are many devices supporting wireless charging in Android smartphone products, such as Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Users only need to put their mobile phones on the wireless charging board. But from the introduction of Apple's patent documents, we can't see whether they refer to the wireless charging scheme. Apple just pointed out that it would use "a base or charging station."
Of course, this is only a patent, and we don't know if Apple has any plans to use it on devices.
However, Apple has already used wireless charging on Apple Watch, and the transition to iPhone may be a natural process. At present, the voice of users to add wireless charging to iPhone is quite high, and the industry also believes that it is time for Apple to add wireless charging function to iPhone.
According to the survey of IHS Technology, as many as 76% consumers in the United States, China and Britain have heard of wireless charging, and this awareness will also promote the further development of wireless charging technology. But Apple is still one of the few vendors that does not support wireless charging.
The survey found that 20% people have used wireless charging technology, while 16% people use it every day. With the needs of users, the popularity of new technologies will become more and more extensive. Moreover, the report also pointed out that 90% of consumers are satisfied with the wireless charging technology currently used, and it can be said that the technology has gradually matured. Maybe it's time for Apple to let iPhone support wireless charging.
